Building Domain Specific Languages for Voice Recognition Applications

    Get PDF
This paper presents a method of implementing the voice recognition for the control of software applications. The solutions proposed are based on transforming a subset of the natural language in commands recognized by the application using a formal language defined by the means of a context free grammar. At the end of the paper is presented the modality of integration of voice recognition and of voice synthesis for the Romanian language in Windows applications.voice recognition, formal languages, context free grammars, text to speech

The BWS Open Business Enterprise System Architecture

    Get PDF
Business process management systems play a central role in supporting the business operations of medium and large organizations. This paper analyses the properties current business enterprise systems and proposes a new application type called Open Business Enterprise Sys-tem. A new open system architecture called Business Workflow System is proposed. This ar-chitecture combines the instruments for flexible data management, business process manage-ment and integration into a flexible system able to manage modern business operations. The architecture was validated by implementing it into the DocuMentor platform used by major companies in Romania and US. These implementations offered the necessary data to create and refine an enterprise integration methodology called DM-CPI. The final section of the paper presents the concepts, stages and techniques employed by the methodology.BWL, Workflow, BWS, Evaluation, Open Business Enterprise System, DM-CPI

    Working with Documents in Databases

    Get PDF
Using on a larger and larger scale the electronic documents within organizations and public institutions requires their storage and unitary exploitation by the means of databases. The purpose of this article is to present the way of loading, exploitation and visualization of documents in a database, taking as example the SGBD MSSQL Server. On the other hand, the modules for loading the documents in the database and for their visualization will be presented through code sequences written in C#. The interoperability between averages will be carried out by the means of ADO.NET technology of database access.interoperability, documents, database, full text search.

The PQUAL Open System Quality Model

    Get PDF
Quality assessment of open business enterprise systems is very important because those plat-forms play a central role in the organizations that implement them. The current paper proposes a new easily applicable software quality model called PQUAL that evaluates the quality of such systems. The quality characteristics are identified and analyzed using the ISO/IEC 9126 international standard as a starting point. The paper develops metrics to measure the quality level for the characteristics. The PQUAL model is applied to compare the quality of the DocuMentor and YAWL platforms

Voltammetric monitoring of laccase-catalysed reactions of different lignins through oxidative coupling with glucosamine

    Get PDF
The ability of laccase to facilitate grafting hydrophilic compounds, namely glucosamine to lignin in acetone/water mixtures aiming to obtain grafted novel lignin derivatives with new functionalities was assayed by cyclic voltammetry. The oxidation properties registered for the oxidative reactions of syringaldazine lignin model compound with glucosamine evidenced that the reaction scan is direct proportional with the redox potential differences between substrate and laccase. A comparative electrochemical activity of lignins on the GCE in absence and presence of the laccase and glucosamine is presented. From the measurements of the coupling reactions currents it was concluded that the addition of glucosamine can lead to a partial loss of the redox activity of lignin phenolic groups and the co-substrate interaction with the lignin surface groups

This tesis deals with the story of the relationship between the Spanish "historical nationalities" and the European Union in 1992-2008. The analysis is focusing on the birth of EU-centred nationalist paradiplomacy with the aim of achieving national identity recognition for these communities within the European Union. After having obtained some national recognition and a privileged status within Spain, the elites of these "nations without state" have noted that the process of building the European Union has a negative impact on their autonomy and, in this context, these nationalist elites are forced to conceive a genuine European policy in order to protect their national interests in Spain and within the European Union. Based on the research on the relationship between the Spanish "historical nationalities" and the European Union, we argue that the autonomic involution (within Spain) and the EU lack of empathy for these national communities are the main causes of the birth of their European policy. Far from being simply associated with some kind of regionalism or neo-regionalism, this foreign policy ("external affairs") is a part of a process of national construction and could be defined as a nationalist paradiplomacy. Furthermore, based on an analysis of this EU-centred foreign policy between 1992 and 2008, our tesis claims that the limits of institutional design of the EU represent the main reason for the evolution of this nationalist paradiplomacy towards an apparently incoherent protodiplomacy. In such a situation, the EU institutional inability to accomodate the nationalist demands seems to be responsible for the failure of some Home Rule nationalist projects and stimulates the growth of a new wave of nationalists whose objective is a national State-building within the European Union
